Malaysian visa for 200 workers

The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) has received visas for 200 workers selected by the government and who are ready to go to Malaysia. Malaysia ImmigrationThe first flight to Malaysia will leave on Apr 25, BMET Director General Shamsun Nahar told bdnews24.com on Tuesday. “BMET received 200 visas at 3pm Tuesday,” she said. Nahar said the first flight was deferred from Mar 27 as there were flaws with the names of the workers. The Bangladesh government had selected 11,758 people on the first leg by the end of January to be sent to Malaysia under government-to-government arrangements. People who were interested in going to Malaysia as workers earlier had to register their names at government designated outlets. A total 1,435,436 people across 64 districts had enrolled. Of them, 34,500 people were primarily selected through an online lottery. Shamsun Nahar said the visas would be handed at the Expatriate Welfare Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
